Nonspeaking teenage girl Leila fancies herself the main character in a road movie, a wild ride at breakneck speed, full of trials and tribulations.
Does she even believe herself, though ?
Leila is Silent. “She’s known for it, it’s her thing.”
But she who does not talk won’t be heard.
And if even in her fiction, Leila remains stubbornly Silent, she won’t be heard. Her characters will seize control of the plot.
She’ll play second fiddle.
To enforce her narrative, Leila will have to speak out. Talk. Take a stance.
So she can keep the story on course.
And laugh in the face of happily-ever-after, for one thing.
So she can grow up.
So she can learn to handle reality.

Founded in 2015, IL VA SANS DIRE has thrived off contemporary litterature to create stage productions, workshops, public readings and such.
Group endeavour, dedication and irreverence are the basis of our work
We use the stage as a medium to explore vulnerability and uncertainty, mixing in experimentation and audacity.
Our creations can be seen as skeins to unravel. We prefer not to give all the answers, but rather to seek a balance, to give the audience space to project and ponder.
