« During last two years, there has been a large circulation of photos from Ukraine, thousands of photographers are trying to show the war, and a year ago the remaining media attention was focused on the events in Ukraine. However, many stories remain untold, forgotten, or misunderstood.

Exhibition project From Inside together with four Ukrainian artists who address the deep experiences and personal stories of Ukrainians and try to visualize them through photography. The war in Ukraine has been going on since 2014, and in February 2022, Russia’s full-scale invasion began. The works presented here created both before and after the Big War, demonstrate how life and artists’ visual language have changed.

The stories created by Ukrainian artists are different from those we can see in the international press, which are created by photographers of the whole world. The main difference is language, access to conversation, the opportunity to talk and understand, and through conversation and photography to try to convey deep feelings, what is hidden inside, what you want to be silent about or even forget.

From Inside is not only a look at the middle of the country, but also an immersion in a new experience of life during the war, for which no one was prepared. These are stories of immigrants; families who lost loved ones at the front; young people who are faced with a decisive choice and who will never be able to return to their homes and families.»
