Les Comédiens voyageurs
Olga and Sasha’s war diary
Jérôme Castel, Lise Gervais en alternance avec Macha Isakova, Olga Kurovska et Sasha Kurovska et Juliette Léger
When Russian tanks cross the border on February 24, 2022, the lives of Olga and Sasha Kurovska change. These two Ukrainian sisters, aged 34 and 32, will live the same war but at a distance. The first lives in the Paris suburbs, the second Kyiv. Immediately, Olga wants her sister to join her to take shelter in France but Sasha wants to stay with her family in her hometown. So to get closer, they keep a diary, published every week for a year, in the M, the magazine of the French newspaper Le Monde. Adapted for the stage, the reading of this correspondence alternates moments of fear, violence, but also poetry and absurd humor. Olga and Sasha talk to each other on each side of an invisible border. Two worlds, two homes that often vibrate in unison and sometimes have difficulty understanding each other. The music played on stage on the electric guitar, the Ukrainian songs and poems come in turn plunge us into a breath-taking and moving story both intimate and political.
From Paris and Kyiv, Olga and Sasha, two Ukrainian sisters, live their first year of war at a distance, on either side of an invisible border
