SHAEIRAT
Hend Jouda - Henri jules Julien
In her magnetic and deeply moving one-woman show, Hend Jouda presents herself for who she is: a woman from Gaza who has lived through four wars, a mother of three, a lover of the Gaza Sea and the trees of Gaza, radiating life and love.
She is also a poet, “one of the most remarkable voices of the new Palestinian poetry scene.” (Médiapart)
“Hend Jouda lets a vibrant voice of desire and resistance burst forth. She anchors her pain and her dreams to a surge of life and freedom that transforms lament into a promise of salvation. In an era of massacres broadcast live, this voice reminds us of the power of dreams and desire and the irrepressible creative impulse to dare to envision a future when the present is crumbling.” (Cultures Plurielles, Geneva)
Performance in Arabic with French and English subtitles

Henri jules Julien - Director
A chemical engineer by training, he works in theater, radio production, translation, and production—whatever is needed. He has lived in North Africa for over 10 years and translates the works of many Arab poets.
He directed Charles Reznikoff’s *Testimony* and wrote and directed two bilingual French-Arabic plays: *De la justice des poissons* and *Mahmoud & Nini*.
In collaboration with Elgas, he wrote a theatrical farce, La farce déchromatique, which will be presented at the Théâtre de l’échangeur in Bagnolet from November 25 to December 5, 2026.
He conceived, launched, and co-leads the Shaeirat project.
Zouheir Atbane - Sound creator
Born in 1983 in Casablanca, Zouheir Atbane is a multidisciplinary artist. He moves between sound research projects, choreography, and lighting design, which he brings to life through sound installations and performances. His work reflects aspects of local identity. It stems from a desire to experience sound as a bodily vibration that is felt rather than merely heard.
Very active within the Shaeirat platform, he has contributed to all of Youness Atbane’s choreographies, and is responsible for the lighting and sound environments of several recent works by choreographers Radouane Mriziga and Youness Aboulakoul.
