Le Cri
Anthony Martine
“When You Sleep You’re Not Hungry” is an Afro-queer medieval tale.
Taking as his starting point his two years of preparatory literary studies at the Lycée Henri IV, Anthony Martine intends to explore the complexities of being Black and queer while having grown up and dreamed as white and heterosexual.
Nothing new under the sun. Nothing new. It's still burning our faces just as much.
Company presentation
The company Le Cri, founded in August 2023 by Fabien Chapeira and Anthony Martine, is based in the 94th district, the department where the two artists grew up.
The company is committed to creating engaged and intersectional queer pop performances. Their uncompromising shows aim to awaken audiences, inviting them to actively participate in the work presented.
Their influences range from Shrek and A Bug's Life to the works of Lagarce, Annie Ernaux, Audre Lorde, and Baldwin.
