Seule comme Maria

Marilou Aussilloux et Théo Askolovitch

A young actress today crosses paths with the actress Maria Schneider.

A young actress is trying to create a show about Maria Schneider. In this one-woman show, presented as an open rehearsal, she lays bare the difficulties she faces. With plenty of humor, clumsiness, and self-deprecation, Marilou Aussilloux makes mistakes, fails spectacularly, and sometimes feels like giving up. Through confessions and digressions, she traces the path of the woman whom the film industry crushed and whom the world silenced, echoing her own wounds.

Why does she identify with the woman whom the film industry and its giants devoured?

Marilou Aussilloux - Director, playwright, and actress

Marilou Aussilloux studied in a preparatory class for the grandes écoles and at the philosophy department in the south of France before joining the open class at the Cours Florent and the Paris National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. After graduating, she worked in theater with, among others, Laurent Gaudé, Robin Renucci, Jean Louis Martinelli, Delphine Hecquet, and more recently with Théo Askolovitch in the play *Zoé et maintenant les vivants* at the Théâtre de la Bastille, and with Denis Marleau in the play *Terrasses* at the Théâtre de la Colline.
In film, she has worked with Albert Dupontel, Cédric Klapisch, Camille Jappy, Laurent Tirard, Jean Xavier de Lestrade, and Robert Guédiguian. This year, she will star in Robert Guédiguian’s upcoming film, Une femme aujourd’hui, in which she plays the lead role.
She is currently writing her second stage show and will soon begin filming Bastien Daret’s first feature film.

Théo Askolovitch - Director

Théo Askolovitch is an actor, writer, stage director, and filmmaker. He began his theater training at Cours Florent, where he completed the professional program, before enrolling at ESCA (École Supérieure des Comédiens par l’Alternance).
Alongside his work as an actor in theater, television, and film, he has developed a practice in writing and directing based on autobiographical and documentary material. His creations often draw on real-life experiences, personal accounts, or intimate stories, which he blends with fiction to construct theatrical forms. He develops a raw, rhythmic writing style, often infused with humor, to tackle intimate subjects.
At the same time, he works in film: he wrote and directed the short film Shiv’ah and is currently preparing to shoot his first feature film.
He is also preparing a new production centered on Red Star, scheduled for the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in 2027.
