Comprendre (Understand)

Comprendre (Understand) is a story, a quest, a work in progress.
On stage, 3 narrators sing and tell a story about a woman who has been suffering long term chronic pain and whose body is still in agony. It relates the myriad of appointments and encounters in a desperate search for a remedy which could relieve the pain. It is from a physical experience which totally upset her life that the author Sonia Bester, has written a polyphonic text. What her body experienced resounds with each of us because who amongst us hasn’t felt pain? We all deal with different burdens.
Whilst the theme is serious, the author has achieved a poetic and burlesque comedy focusing on the absurd.
