B. Bouchelaghem composes with wear in its fruitful dimension, namely resistance and persistence: what remains resists! At the crossroads of hip-hop and contemporary dance, the repetitive movements & shifts disrupt the groups and individualities stand out to find the strength to resist deterioration. Each dancer then tells their own way of struggling, pushing their limits, to the edge of exhaustion

Company presentation

Created in 2005, the company has the same name as Brahim Bouchelaghem's first solo in tribute to his deceased father, Zahrbat, which means: the one who moves all the time, who does not stay still.
From 2007 to 2013, the company was accompanied by the CCN-Roubaix Carolyn Carlson, where Brahim was associate artist. Since 2013, Zahrbat company is located at Studio 28 in Roubaix.
The company has thirteen pieces in its repertoire, including two international premieres, in Russia and Ukraine, and has played in more than 40 countries around the world.

Brahim Bouchelaghem - Choregrapher

Brahim Bouchelaghem discovered Hip Hop in 1984. Since 1992, he has performed with F. Berki, M. Merzouki, K. Attou.
In 2004, Brahim creates his solo Zahrbat and then his company. In 2007 he meets Carolyn Carlson who supports his work until 2013. In 2011, he obtains two Golden Masks nominations in Russia, and in 2015 he receives the title of “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” and the medal of honorary citizen of Roubaix. Brahim still continues his work between hip hop and contemporary dance.
