The Hoop is a Saudi play set in a monotonous and joyless office, where employees work mechanically and without passion every day. Nothing changes until Fawzi, the department head, suddenly snaps. Standing on a desk, he breaks the silence with a desperate outburst, questioning the meaning of their repetitive existence. But instead of bringing about change, time restarts. The same gestures, the same conversations, the same silence return, trapping everyone in an endless loop.

More than just an office drama, The Hoop is a reflection on modern life: the routines we never question, the fears we silence, and the cages we no longer see. The play doesn’t provide clear answers, but holds up a mirror and issues a silent challenge: to recognize the loop we’re caught in… and to ask ourselves what it would take to break out of it.

Caught in an endless loop, employees defy the absurd mechanics of a work world adrift.

About the Company - Theatre & Performing Arts Commission

Founded in 2015, the Fun Box theater troupe has performed over 25 plays and won numerous awards at local and international festivals. Throughout its history, it has attracted some of the biggest theater stars in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, as well as talented male performers.

Ahmed Musa Albun Himdah / أحمد موسى البن حمضه - Author

A Saudi writer and actor. He has written numerous theatrical and cinematic scripts and won first place in the Sharjah Playwriting Competition for 2023–2024.


كاتب وممثل سعودي، ألّف العديد من النصوص المسرحية والسينمائية، وحاز على المركز الأول في مسابقة الشارقة للتأليف المسرحي لعام 2023–2024.

Fahd Mohammed Al-Dosari / فهد الدوسري - Direction

A Saudi director and producer with over 28 theatrical productions. He has participated in many local and international festivals, earning multiple awards and widespread praise. He has directed plays for some of the Gulf’s most prominent theatre stars.


مخرج ومنتج سعودي قدّم أكثر من 28 عملاً مسرحياً شارك بها في مهرجانات محلية ودولية، ونالت عروضه جوائز وإشادات واسعة. أخرج أعمالاً مسرحية لعدد من أبرز نجوم المسرح في الخليج.
