After “À ne pas rater” and “L’Origine du monde (46×55)”, La Vaste Entreprise returns to La Manufacture, with an amazing solution to an everyday problem: lack of time.

La Fondation du Rien offers a very tempting catalog of canceled activities. A highly effective solution to finally enjoy some free time. It might change your life.

Come see us to experiment this amazing conceptual magic trick.

Nicolas Heredia initiates an international public health project: doing nothing. And he teaches you to do it in style. (…) Of course, this 'nothing' is never quite nothing. And that’s where the incredible challenge lies. – LIBÉRATION – Ève Beauvallet

About the Company - La Vaste Entreprise

Nicolas Heredia and La Vaste Entreprise develop different projects in theatres, contemporary art centers or in public spaces, mixing visual arts and performing arts. They compose, year after year, a collection of pieces always deeply linked to each other, and most of the time focusing on ordinary events – that might somehow become poetic.
In recent years, they have notably presented in many places in France "À ne pas rater", “Visite de Groupe”, “L’Origine du monde".

Nicolas Heredia - Auteur, metteur en scène, acteur

Author, director, set designer, and actor, Nicolas Heredia has been developing the project La Vaste Entreprise since 2007, where his theatrical work and visual arts practice intersect.
Among the creations of recent years:
In 2016, he wrote Visite de Groupe for public spaces and art centers, a visit that proposes to visit the group of visitors who form it, 'an audio-guided performance for a synthetic voice and a group of individuals' (Pronomade(s), Derrière le hublot, Scène nationale Culture Commune, Carré d'Art in Nîmes, Scène nationale d'Albi, Scène nationale de Narbonne, Musée du Louvre-Lens, etc.).
In 2018, he wrote and performed L'Origine du monde (46x55), a theatrical performance starting from a copy of Courbet’s painting bought at a flea market (CDN Thionville, Scène nationale d'Albi, Musée d'art moderne et contemporain in Saint-Étienne, Théâtre du Beauvaisis - scène nationale, L'Onde – théâtre and art center in Vélizy, TMS – scène nationale de Sète, La Garance – scène nationale de Cavaillon, Théâtre de Châtillon, etc.).
In 2019, he created Légendes, an installation for public space with 350 micro-novels scattered throughout the city's nooks and crannies, opening up a reflection on the place of residents in the work, and the relational dimensions of writing (Pronomade(s), ARTO in Ramonville, Scènes croisées de Lozère, Chahuts Festival in Bordeaux, L'Atelline in Montpellier, Lieux Publics in Marseille, etc.).
In 2021, he created À ne pas rater, a show that aims to measure everything you miss while attending the performance (Théâtre des 13 Vents – CDN Montpellier, Théâtre Jean Vilar Montpellier, Musée du Louvre-Lens, Le Cratère – scène nationale d'Alès, Scène nationale de Dieppe, L'Hexagone – scène nationale arts and sciences in Meylan, Le Carré – scène nationale and art center in Château-Gontier, Le Bois de l'Aune in Aix-en-Provence, L'Archipel – scène nationale de Perpignan, etc.).
In 2022, he created L'Instant T, a plastic and choreographic performance for public space (L'Atelline in Montpellier, MAIF Social Club Paris, L'Usine in Toulouse, Le Parvis – scène nationale de Tarbes, Théâtre+Cinéma – scène nationale de Narbonne, Le Bois de l'Aune in Aix-en-Provence, etc.).
In 2024, he created La Fondation du Rien as part of the Némo Biennale in Paris, with the cross support of twelve National Centers for Street Arts and Public Space: at the crossroads of performance and digital arts, a hybrid, multifaceted, and interactive system (MAIF Social Club Paris, Le Carré – scène nationale de Château-Gontier, L'Hexagone – scène nationale arts and sciences, Les Tombées de la Nuit in Rennes, Paris Summer Festival, OVNI Festival in Châtillon, etc.).

He regularly works with higher art schools and professionals, exploring the links between live performance and visual arts (ENSAD Montpellier, MO.CO. ESBA Montpellier, FAI-AR in Marseille, École d'art de Casablanca, École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Montpellier, Les Chantiers nomades, etc.).

With La Vaste Entreprise, he is an associate artist at Parvis – scène nationale de Tarbes, and at Théâtre+Cinéma – scène nationale de Narbonne.

In the press

It's silly, it's funny, and at the same time... it makes you think.

France Inter – Marine Baousson

It’s up to each of us to make the most of this unexpected — even miraculous — break in an overloaded schedule: to do nothing, recharge, dream… or finally dare to do what we never had the courage to start.

Télérama Sortir

The idea is as brilliant as it is hilarious. (…) What makes the FdR both intriguing and unsettling is its tightrope walk between surreal hoax, aesthetic gesture, and psychological experiment.
