Il nous restera la musique

Il nous restera la musique

Grégory Mariscal, Emilie Dautricourt et Nelson-Rafaell Madel

Over fifty years ago, Véronique Sanson and Michel Berger met and embarked on an intense musical love affair. This love affair was cut short when Véronique Sanson left for the United States. Despite the distance, the passage of time, their careers and their respective lives, these two have never stopped writing to each other, talking to each other, perhaps still loving each other through song.

With Il nous restera la musique, we explore this link, this correspondence, the taut thread of the relationship between these two legendary figures. It tells the story of how, from the very beginnings of their relationship, music has provided a parallel space for expression and dialogue, enabling them to express to each other and to the world their powerful feelings, their unspeakable desires and their tenacious flame.

It tells the story of how, from the very beginnings of their relationship, music has provided a parallel space for expression and dialogue, enabling them to express to each other and to the world their powerful feelings, their unspeakable desires and their tenacious flame.

The words and breaths of strangers precede, respond to and merge with the melodies and lyrics of Sanson and Berger. Strangers to whom we asked:
– What does love mean to you today?
– Do you know Sanson/Berger? What about their love story?
– After a break-up, is there a bond (epistolary, musical, real relationship…) that resists time, other relationships, separation, death?
Isabelle, Maël, Adrien, Jann, Paul, Alecka, Ève… and so many others, answer these questions, and reveal themselves. Their words are the perfect sounding board for Véronique and Miche’s story.

Grégory Mariscal - singer-songwriter

A singer, performer, musician, author and composer, Grégory Mariscal has been a member of children's choirs since the age of 11, and continues to perform as a teenager and young adult.

From his first participation in the creation of Gaua, "L'Insolence de la lumière", at the Scène Nationale du Merlan in Marseille, he has written and performed music and backing vocals for theatre and dance companies.

From 2008, he set about developing a project somewhere between song and performance, using his voice and a sampler, under his family's Andalusian name: Mariscal. Supported by the Chantier des Francos in La Rochelle, he toured France, Switzerland and Quebec, giving over 200 solo concerts. Curious to explore a more identified format, he recorded an album with Jeff Hallam, bassist for Dominique A.
Hallam, bassist for Dominique A and Hindi Zarah and American arranger, which was released
2 March 2018, produced by La Familia.

An artist who likes to cross paths, meet new people and do research, he provides vocal and stage accompaniment to film actors, young contemporary music artists and teachers...

Emilie Dautricourt - singer-songwriter

Émilie studied classical and jazz piano at the Conservatoire and musicology at the Paris-Sorbonne. As a songwriter and composer, she has written music for films and songs for her Lili Ster project (2 albums have been released, followed by tours of Europe and Asia). Today, eager to collaborate, she is called upon as a musician (keyboardist, bassist, singer) for various contemporary music projects (Beat Assaillant, Hollysiz, Arandel...) in the studio and in concert. All these encounters were inspiring and encouraged her to explore other forms. This was evident in her film-concert 'Les Voix du fantôme' (Lux & Cnc national stage), and in her new creation 'Le Tiki Show' (Gommette Production) with the participation of Zaza Fournier, where she pushes further the desire to mix music with other disciplines.

Émilie invents without limits. She creates shows that blend song, image, music, words and dance... These are all rich encounters and experiences that complement and nourish each other.... where there are no boundaries.
