Bis Repetita

Christophe Rodomisto

It could be called live cinema… Four artists – actors and musicians – revisit a film by Jess Franco and abolish the boundaries between stage and screen. A feverish dive into the universe of the Spanish filmmaker. Intense and penetrating!

Are you ready for an immersive experience? Make yourself comfortable, ecstasy awaits you. The director was adept at this, as well as at mixing genres. Known for his fierce freedom and inspired by Sade’s famous text, he filmed in 1970, in Les Inassouvies, the sexual education of an innocent young girl that turns into a nightmare.

No boudoir or philosophy here, but faces, bodies, voices, drums and electric guitar. Christophe Rodomisto and his band appropriate this film before our captivated eyes, in a musical and sound performance that gives this burning work a striking third dimension.

Bis Repetita invites us to a scenic cinema session as disturbing as a secret ceremony from which we come out initiated, shivering with a pleasure that we cannot say if it was sensual or frightening. What is sure on the other hand, it is that one asks for it again. A delightful tribute not to be missed!

Christophe Rodomisto - Conception

Christophe Rodomisto is a musician, guitarist and composer. Self-taught, curious and insatiable, his atypical career path refuses any categorization.
As a leader, he co-founded the rock band Opossum (1999-2003), he then conceived the surrealist project La Pompe Moderne (aka The Brassens), the ghost band of Georges Brassens, which, from 2008 to 2011, was the absolute weapon of the cover. He has also been part of several improvisation collectives. He is putting together Bis Repetita in 2019 out of a passion for genre cinema.
Musical director, he has been working since 2016 with the Cadre Noir de Saumur and wrote the original music for the show Au Coeur du Grand Manège. In 2018, he was invited to Saumur with his band to accompany the show live, with original compositions as well as a selection of film music.
As a musician and performer, he has collaborated with artists like Claire Diterzi, Tante Hortense, Nevchehirlian, Anais, The Aikiu. He is a guitarist in the cabaret of Madame Arthur for their tribute to Alain Bashung. For the performing arts, he writes and performs for dance (notably with Philippe Decouflé, Tout Doit Disparaître, Théâtre National de Chaillot 2019), and even more so for theater, where regular collaborations are multiplying (Irina Brook, Aurélie Van Den Dale, three creations with Alexis Armengol, two creations with Renaud Cojo). He works with Jean-Luc Vincent's company, Les Roches Blanches, since 2017.
For the cinema, he has produced since 2010 many documentary scores, including with Delphine Deloget, whose film Voyage en Barbarie won the Albert Londres prize in 2015, and the music quality prize of the CNC. The same year he was awarded Emergence Cinema. He has written the music for several short fiction films since, and participated in the soundtrack of the feature film Apnea, by Jean-Christophe Meurisse.

I find this initiative fascinating.
