VINCENT DUSSART
Two men in search of what damaged their childhood. They dive into their buried memories to break the silence and denial that have been suffocating them.
Grégoire is searching for who his father — increasingly absent — really was, and for the mother who pushed him further away each day.
Pierre finds a family photo in which he appears, almost against his will. To decipher it, he subjects it to the scrutiny of several relatives. What do they see?
Two real-life stories in which the family secret is revealed. Two tales in which words open the way to a freeing experience.
The children are always at the center of the slaughter.
The children are always at the center of the slaughter.
GRÉGOIRE DELACOURT - AUTHOR
Grégoire Delacourt, both advertising executive and writer, was born in Valenciennes, in the north of France. He began his career in the early 1980s by joining an advertising agency. In 2011, he published his first novel, L’Écrivain de la famille, a largely autobiographical work. The book received several awards, including the Marcel Pagnol Prize, the Rive Gauche Prize, the First Novel Prize, and the Cœur de France Prize. He followed this success in 2012 with La Liste de mes envies, which was praised by critics. L’Enfant réparé, his tenth book and first autobiographical account, was published in September 2021.
PIERRE CRETON - AUTHOR
After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Le Havre, he chose to become a farm worker in the Pays de Caux. This experience provided the material for most of the films he has directed since 1992. He is the author of around twenty films, all of which have been presented at the Marseille International Film Festival. L’Heure du berger won both the Grand Prize of the French Competition and the National Association of Art House Cinemas Award in 2008. Three of his feature-length films have had national theatrical releases: Secteur 545 (2004), Maniquerville (2009), and Va, Toto ! (2017). He occasionally teaches at art and film schools in Paris, Geneva, Beijing, and Angers.
