Time to tell

Martin Palisse & David Gauchard

Martin Palisse sees that « juggling is like stretching time, it’s a practice that enables me to look ahead in the future without the fear of the suffering of existence ».

Martin Palisse, juggler and music lover, speaks through this new creation, telling the tale of the life of an artist under the influence of cystic fibrosis, a ‘rare and severe’ genetic disease. At the centre of a traversal stage, and with the help of director David Gauchard, Martin Palisse offers the story of his relationship to his condition and to his art, with humour and modesty. His act of juggling truly takes a radical, enduring and strong turn while he pushes his breath and respiration towards the limits of suffocation.

This intimate circus show will help you address the equation of our human condition, in an original and impactful manner.

Martin Palisse - Juggler

Martin Palisse is a both a juggler and an author. He discovered juggling as a teenager, and learned juggling from the masters of art Jérôme Thomas and Maksim Komaro... From that moment on, he developed a unique mix by conjugating juggling to what would emerge as a radical use of music. His juggling evolves through extremely elaborate geometrical scenic and audio baselines which permanently converging.
In 2002 he founded the Cirque Bang Bang in association with Elsa Guérin, and where he has been performing his creations up to 2015. He was the first artist to be nominated as head of a Pôle National Cirque in 2014 and to become head of the Sirque in Nexon, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

David Gauchard - Director

David Gauchard is a director who was trained at ERAC (Ecole Régionale d’Acteurs de Cannes) and at the Académie Théâtrale de l’Union de Limoges. He created L’unjambiste Compagny in 1999. Within this company he has directed around fifteen plays, and distinguished himself with the staging of major classic plays, before turning to documentary theatre, and exploring tales, opera and dance. In the press

He juggles with words and with a few balls, because that’s how he expresses himself. Time to Tell is about resisting, fighting, hope, and above all it’s about using creativity to face a disease. It is a powerful show, and it will remind you that modern juggling explores the world, far beyond technique or virtuosity.
