Company presentation

Created in 2011 in Montpellier, Le Cri Dévot is a theatre company that explores modern writing through community meetings. Our creations always start with an immersion period in a specific environment, outside of theatres. During these first steps of research, we enrich our points of view by meeting different groups of people (locals, students...). In this way, local projects and shared creations took a central role in the artistic development of the company. The co-writing with participants, along with documenting real speech and testimonies are valuable tools for building our shows.

Camille Daloz - Auteur / Metteur en scène / Dir. artistique du Cri Dévot

Trained at the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique de Montpellier in 2007 and graduated from a master’s degree in theatre studies at the Université Montpellier III, Camille Daloz founded the company Le Cri Dévot in 2011 and leads a cycle of creation around different mythological rewriting. By broadcasting these shows in several professional festivals, the company continues its work of valuing contemporary writings. The immersion projects allow him to create friendly moments and artistic encounters, to gather words that have become essential in the company’s creation process. This is how he adapts and always invents new links around a topic to free himself from classical models of broadcast. He also continued his work as an actor with La Compagnie Provisoire (Julien Guill) and Les Arts Oseurs (Périne Faivre)
