Bob et moi

BAJOUR

After a sleepless night, an anxious child meets Bob Marley. He will change his life.

Alexandre Virapin takes us into a captivating journey between Kingston and Miami, via Europe and Africa, which allows us to (re)discover the facets of Jamaica, cradle of reggae and Rastafarian movement, far from the misconceptions.
Through stories and History, the actor tells us how a man born in the Jamaican ghetto became a legend, thanks to his genius and humanity.

Both striking and funny, Bob et moi is a show from which we emerge grown up with the strength of universal struggles for peace and the intimate poursuit of happiness.

Company presentation

It is within the company Les Échappés de la Coulisse, co-directed by Alexandre Virapin and Jules Meary, that the idea of this show was born and its first series of performances in high schools, outdoors, in Mayotte or Reunion Island, in inaccessible villages where the issue of slavery speaks more closely. Alexandre Virapin, creative member of the collective BAJOUR - Un homme qui fume c'est plus sain (Prix des Lycéens Festival Impatience 2017), L'île (Avignon Off 2021) - decided to create Bob et moi in a theater version, presented last April for the first time at Mythos Festival.
